How I practice: Depth, transpersonal, or spiritual psychology are all ways to incorporate the whole self into a therapy session. Somatic therapy is another way of helping you to get in touch with emotions carried in your body. When we get "out of our minds," we may find it easier to hear our bodies and souls speaking to us. Dream work allows us to hear the voice of our unconscious minds, speaking in symbols and in a very personal and specific way. Art work allows your unconscious mind to communicate in symbols and can give us information that may contradict the thoughts we consciously think.
These tools are employed to help you find your own inner voice, your self that is not influenced by culture or family norms, or by experiences that have influenced you to be afraid or angry.
