Faye Maguire, MA, LAC, CAT
I am a licensed psychotherapist & addiction counselor, serving Colorado through virtual therapy, and the Kansas City, Mo area through in person & online counseling.
Counseling is my "retirement career" .
It took me nearly 8 years to receive my Master's Degree in Psychology the year I turned 50. I was co owner of Paris on the Platte, a longtime Denver coffeehouse, bookstore & wine bar. I was raising 3 children. Life was full. POTP was a sanctuary for many people, a social & community hub.
Running POTP led me to meet people from all walks of life and to hear many stories of struggle & success. I realized I wanted to continue to work in service to others, in a more therapeutic way.
Ultimately, I began studying psychology as many do: looking for answers to my own questions about life & relationships, meaning & spirituality. And always, a love of hearing others' stories.
I began my private practice very slowly in 2004, while continuing to run POTP. I began working in community mental health in 2014, and when I sold Paris in 2015, I continued to work in this field, working in a community crisis center, while also increasing my private caseload.
